In a decisive move, Punjab's Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, has instructed senior police officials to identify and catalog main drug suppliers and peddlers in their districts within a week.

This directive seeks to dismantle narcotic supply chains driving the state's drug trade, following the impactful 'Yudh Nashian Virudh' campaign.

The initiative, launched on March 1, has led to 3,957 arrests and a substantial contraband recovery, including 137.7 kg of heroin.

Citizen feedback indicates reduced street-level drug availability, but Yadav emphasizes the need for meticulous enforcement against drug peddlers.

Police Commissioners and SSPs are ordered to personally oversee supplier mapping using data from various sources.

Failure to comply will be seen as negligence, Yadav warned, stressing timely report submissions.

Based on the reports, targeted operations will aim to dismantle drug networks.
