Delhi Police announced the arrest of a ground handling employee involved in a high-end smartphone theft at IGI Airport. Identified as 28-year-old Monu alias Nikhil Kumar, the accused was found with 36 stolen smartphones, part of a larger shipment worth lakhs.

The case came to light after an e-FIR filed by Sanjay Yadav, head of sales and marketing, reported a shipment discrepancy. Out of 280 branded smartphones shipped, 75 were missing, prompting a comprehensive investigation by a dedicated police team.

Despite initial setbacks, technical surveillance helped trace the stolen phones to unsuspecting buyers, leading police to arrest Nikhil Kumar. He confessed to stealing the phones, exploiting his position within the airport's logistics operations. Police are still pursuing accomplice Sahil, with continued efforts to recover all stolen devices.
