The Maharashtra government has announced the commencement of a comprehensive campaign to update 7/12 land title records beginning April 1st, revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated in the Legislative Council.

After a successful pilot run in Chikhli, Buldhana district from March 1st, the 'Live 7/12' initiative will now be extended across the state. This effort focuses on updating inheritance records in land ownership documents for deceased landholders, addressing hurdles faced by heirs in agricultural dealings.

An official order was issued on March 19th to launch the full-scale campaign in all districts from April 1st, with completion aimed within one-and-a-half months. Bawankule called on council members to encourage local officials to actively participate in the process.
