The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken another significant step in the multi-million-dollar PNB scam by filing a supplementary chargesheet on Monday. In a surprising revelation, Purvi Mehta, sister of the prime accused Nirav Modi, has been named as an accused.

The chargesheet, delivered to a special CBI court by prosecutor A Limosine, also includes Aditya Nanavati of the Firestar group. While Mehta has been linked as a beneficiary of misappropriated funds from Punjab National Bank through Letters of Undertaking, her husband Maiank Mehta remains untouched in this set of charges.

Nirav Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi, the masterminds behind the Rs 13,000-crore fraud, remain embroiled in legal predicaments abroad. With Choksi allegedly residing in Belgium and Modi detained in London, the global scale of the investigation intensifies.
