The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala has raised serious concerns about the impartiality of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) following its chargesheet in the Kodakara black money case. The chargesheet, which reportedly absolves BJP leaders of involvement, has been described by UDF as damaging to the agency's trustworthiness.

Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan criticized the ED for seemingly excluding key findings from the police report, which implicated the BJP in transporting black money into Kerala during the 2021 assembly polls. He alleged that the ED's actions reflect a pattern of targeting opposition leaders while shielding those in power.

Satheesan also drew attention to a parallel issue, suggesting that the ED might similarly protect CPI(M) in the Karuvannur bank scam. The Kodakara case centers on a 2021 incident where Rs 3.5 crore was stolen under suspicious circumstances, believed to be linked to election funding.
