The Central Bureau of Investigation has apprehended a general manager from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) alongside three individuals, including a general manager from a private construction company, in relation to an alleged Rs 15 lakh bribe designed to secure undue contract-related favors, according to official sources on Monday.

Ram Prit Paswan, the implicated NHAI general manager, reportedly requested the bribe to sway the processing and approval of contracts and works bills linked to the NHAI. Also detained was Suresh Mahapatra, the general manager from Ram Kripal Singh Construction Pvt. Ltd, accused of facilitating the bribe.
