CBI Nabs NHAI GM and Associates in Rs 15 Lakh Bribery Scandal
The CBI has arrested an NHAI general manager and three others, including a private company's GM, over an alleged Rs 15 lakh bribery for contract-related favors. Searches yielded over Rs 1.18 crore cash and incriminating documents from multiple locations, deepening the corruption investigation.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has apprehended a general manager from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) alongside three individuals, including a general manager from a private construction company, in relation to an alleged Rs 15 lakh bribe designed to secure undue contract-related favors, according to official sources on Monday.
Ram Prit Paswan, the implicated NHAI general manager, reportedly requested the bribe to sway the processing and approval of contracts and works bills linked to the NHAI. Also detained was Suresh Mahapatra, the general manager from Ram Kripal Singh Construction Pvt. Ltd, accused of facilitating the bribe.
In a sweeping operation, CBI agents conducted raids across various locations, recovering approximately Rs 1.18 crore in cash, along with incriminating documents and digital devices. Those named in the FIR alongside others include several high-ranking NHAI officials and personnel from the implicated private company.
