Russia's Defence Ministry announced on Tuesday the recapture of more than 100 square kilometers (38.6 square miles) of land and 12 settlements in the Kursk region. This move is part of an effort to expel Ukrainian forces from the area.
These claims, however, remain unverified as Reuters could not independently confirm the battlefield developments reported by the Russian ministry.
The geopolitical tensions in the region continue to escalate, with both sides claiming advancements in various territories.
