BRS working president K T Rama Rao is currently seeking legal counsel after being summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for an appearance set for January 7. Sources close to Rao confirmed the consultations on Wednesday.

Previously serving as the Municipal Administration Minister in the BRS regime, Rao is under scrutiny by the ED for alleged irregularities concerning a Formula-E race in Hyderabad. The federal agency recently filed an enforcement case information report (ECIR) based on a complaint from the Telangana Police Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) under sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

During an informal media interaction, Rao dismissed the allegations as baseless and accused the Congress-led state government of political vendetta. He maintained faith in the judiciary regarding the high-profile case, which seeks to challenge the FIR filed by the ACB.
