Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, the newly appointed Governor of Kerala, was warmly received by Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Wednesday evening. The reception marked a hopeful beginning for Arlekar's tenure in the state.
Arlekar is scheduled to take the oath of office at the Rajbhavan on Thursday. Chief Minister Vijayan expressed optimism about working together for the state's progress and unity in a post shared on social media platform 'X'.
The ruling CPI(M) in Kerala anticipates a constructive partnership with Arlekar, contrasting the adversarial dynamics with former Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, who has been reassigned to Bihar. Khan's tenure included several disputes with the Left government, especially regarding university administration.
