The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jammu and Kashmir is set to enhance transparency and operational efficiency by adopting a fully electronic challan system.
Starting January 1, all branches of the ACB will cease manual FIR registrations, opting instead to utilize the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS) for electronic submissions. This shift is expected to streamline the challan filing process, improve record-keeping, and facilitate quicker case management.
To guarantee a seamless transition, investigating officers will be required to upload specific forms into the CCTNS for every case. CCTNS laboratories have been established at all eight ACB police stations in the region, with 18 officials trained to ensure smooth platform operation. Additionally, supervisory officers will withhold challan approvals until all necessary data is entered into the CCTNS.
