Rabindra Ghosh, advocate for Bangladeshi Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, will miss a crucial court hearing on Thursday owing to his recent hospitalisation. Two of his junior lawyers, alongside 18 other legal representatives, are set to handle the courtroom proceedings in his absence.
Visiting West Bengal last month for medical treatment, Ghosh was hospitalized at SSKM Hospital in Kolkata following a sudden bout of chest pain. The 74-year-old lawyer, who is staying with his son Rahul in Barrackpore, remains in constant touch with his legal team despite health setbacks.
Despite numerous challenges, Ghosh emphasizes his unwavering commitment to defending minority Hindu rights in Bangladesh. His hospitalization coincides with a pivotal hearing at the Chittagong High Court, where efforts are ongoing to secure Das's release amid claims of false charges.
