Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reported a rise in illegal entries from Bangladesh, attributing it to the country's collapsing textile industry. Many of those entering are from the majority community, seeking work in Tamil Nadu's textile sector.
Sarma stated that the Hindu minority in Bangladesh remains despite facing challenges, terming them 'very patriotic.' He emphasized the government's strategy to stop illegal entries and highlighted Prime Minister Modi's efforts to improve conditions in Bangladesh.
The surge in infiltration, linked to economic instability, has the Indian government on alert. Sarma revealed ongoing efforts with national agencies to address this, including recent arrests of terror network members amid the unrest.
