An unexpected surge of water and gas has emerged during borewell digging in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, prompting an investigation by the state's Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). Minister Kanhaiyalal Choudhary has committed to uncovering the underlying causes of this incident.
The sudden leakage has resulted in damage to a local farmer's field, with immediate action taken by the district administration to address the situation. Officials, including Jaisalmer MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati and social worker Chandraprakash Sharda, were on-site to assess the situation and arrange assistance for the affected farmer, Vikram Singh.
A precautionary zone of 500 meters has been established around the site, prohibiting entry to prevent further risk. Heavy machinery remains lodged 850 feet deep in the pit as the district administration awaits expert evaluations before any retrieval action is taken.
