Delhi Police have successfully dismantled a significant online investment fraud syndicate responsible for duping victims with false promises of high returns. Five individuals were arrested in connection with the scam, which involved financial transactions exceeding Rs 2.5 crore across multiple states.
The investigation was launched after a complainant from Sadh Nagar reported being misled by a woman posing as a lead analyst. Persuaded by bogus investment tips, the victim was defrauded of Rs 19.27 lakh.
The police tracked the money trail to a private bank in Ludhiana, where the funds were linked to a fake firm. The subsequent arrests unveiled international ties with fraudsters in Dubai and Chinese nationals targeting Indian investors.
