In a significant crackdown, Delhi Police apprehended two Nigerian nationals accused of operating a heroin distribution syndicate within the Delhi-NCR region. A whopping 442 grams of heroin were allegedly recovered from their possession, authorities disclosed on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Ravi Kumar Singh detailed how a strategic tip-off led to the capture. Authorities were informed about a car arriving near Ashram Ring Road on December 26, resulting in the interception of Amans Osaretin, alias Fred. A search of the vehicle revealed heroin cleverly hidden in a tetra juice pack inside his jacket. Subsequent revelations led to the arrest of his associate Thompson, alias Emeka, in Nilothi Extension. Four mobile phones allegedly used for drug transactions were seized as evidence.

Both Fred, residing in Greater Noida since 2014 for medical treatment, and Thompson, who overstayed his visa after arriving in 2021, were believed to be part of a multi-state drug network. Investigations continue into unraveling their broader connections and activities.
