Santosh Deshmukh's brother has approached the Bombay High Court seeking the removal of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Dhananjay Munde from his ministerial position. The request aims to ensure a fair inquiry into Deshmukh's murder, alleging Munde's connections with a criminal syndicate in Beed are influencing the investigation.
Deshmukh was killed on December 9, reportedly for resisting extortion attempts by individuals demanding money from a windmill company in Beed. The petitioner claims Munde is linked to the syndicate's head, whose involvement is suspected in the murder, prompting the need for Munde's removal from office.
Four arrests have been made in connection with the case. The petition also calls for action against Walmik Karad, an alleged aide of Munde, under serious criminal charges. An urgent court hearing is expected to address these allegations.
