In the Mohangarh Canal area of Rajasthan's Jaisalmer, a gas leakage caused by a tubewell drilling operation has reportedly stopped, officials announced on Monday.

The incident on Saturday resulted in the ground collapsing, unleashing water and gas under high pressure. This sudden discharge frightened local residents.

According to Jaisalmer District Collector Pratap Singh Nathawat, the leakage ceased by 10 pm Sunday, though experts warn of potential recurrence. Prohibitory orders have been enforced, restricting access to 500 metres around the site.
