A significant anti-narcotics operation resulted in the interception of about 700 kg of Methamphetamine seized off the Gujarat coast, involving the arrest of eight Iranians. The operation was conducted by a joint team comprising the Navy, NCB, and Gujarat Police.
Code-named 'Sagar Manthan-4', the mission successfully tracked an unregistered vessel lacking navigational tools, as per NCB officials. This contraband's street value stands between Rs 2,500-3,500 crore.
Home Minister Amit Shah praised the operation as a testament to cohesive agency efforts under Prime Minister Modi's vision for a drug-free country. The operation marks the second major drug bust at sea by the Navy this year.
