Three people, including one Indian national, were taken into custody with over 22 kg of hashish in an operation at a town near the Indo-Nepal border on Thursday. This cross-border action underscores the challenges of drug trafficking in the region.
Authorities identified the suspects as Mukesh Kumar, 29, and two Nepalese nationals, Maksud Ansari, 29, and Ramlal Sahani, 20. They were intercepted in the vicinity of Bishwo Hotel in Birgunj Metropolitan City, known for its strategic location near the border.
Following the arrest, local police announced that they have initiated a comprehensive investigation. This incident has heightened concerns about the flow of illegal substances across national boundaries, prompting law enforcement to tighten security measures.
