A devastating car bomb explosion occurred in the early hours of Thursday in Mir Ali city, a known former stronghold of the Pakistani Taliban, located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The blast killed at least seven individuals, including two children and five suspected militants, as confirmed by local police authorities.
According to Irfan Khan, a local police official, the tragic incident unfolded when a suspected militant commander, Rasool Jan, was handling an explosive device. The Pakistani Taliban rapidly responded, retrieving the bodies of the deceased insurgents from the site. The blast caused extensive damage to nearby structures, leaving 14 people wounded, with some in critical condition.
In a separate incident on the same day within the province, a motorcycle-riding suicide bomber set off an explosive prematurely on a deserted road in Charsadda district, resulting in his own death. The intended target remains unidentified as local officials continue their investigation into the event.
