The Supreme Court intervened on Thursday to suspend a Jharkhand High Court verdict instructing a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the appointments and promotions within the state's legislative assembly.
A bench, consisting of Justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan, has agreed to review the request presented by the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha against the High Court's September 23, 2024 decision.
The plea argues that there lacks sufficient evidence for CBI involvement, citing no signs of fraud or money exchange and emphasizing that the matter primarily involves civil issues and service jurisprudence, better suited for a state-level investigation.
