In the wake of growing concerns over potential infiltration and drone weapon drops, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district have intensified their operations, especially along the fog-covered border areas with Pakistan, officials disclosed.
These measures were initiated as security agencies flagged heightened risk levels due to thick fog, which could potentially obscure attempts at infiltration or illegal activities. The J-K Police's Special Operation Group has been actively conducting searches in sensitive regions bordering the International Border (IB), with officials stressing the increased danger under weather conditions.
In efforts to thwart any breaches, a robust, multi-tiered security arrangement has been established. The Border Security Force (BSF) has reinforced its security grid along the IB, supported by a secondary setup of border police and a tertiary layer comprised of Village Defence Groups, officials noted, underscoring the comprehensive defenses in place.
