The Supreme Court has scolded the Goa government, particularly its chief secretary, for independently altering the recruitment rules of the Bombay High Court. This occurred without consulting the Chief Justice, thus drawing intense criticism from the judiciary.

Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Augustine George Masih of the Supreme Court have expressed their shock, demanding the chief secretary to explain his actions in an upcoming virtual appearance. The court sees this move as a blatant disregard for legal protocols.

Originally highlighted in a su motu case by former employees of the Bombay High Court concerning unpaid dues, the issue has the court scrutinizing the legitimacy of the Goa government's actions, with further hearings scheduled next month.
