A British teenager is scheduled for trial in January, accused of carrying out a knife attack that killed three young girls in northern England last July, an incident that appalled the nation and incited multiple riots.
Axel Rudakubana, 18, is charged with murdering girls aged six to nine at a Taylor Swift dance event in Southport and faces 10 additional attempted murder charges.
Rudakubana also faces charges of producing the lethal poison ricin and possessing an al Qaeda training manual. He appeared via videolink from London's Belmarsh prison, concealing his face with a sweatshirt, at a hearing in Liverpool Crown Court. A plea hearing is set for Dec. 12, with the trial commencing on Jan. 20, expected to last four to six weeks.
