Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has made a decisive move to halt uranium exploration and mining activities in the Kappatralla Reserve Forest of Kurnool district. This directive was issued by the state's administration on Tuesday.

The announcement comes as a relief to residents, who had been expressing increasing concern over the potential environmental and health impacts of such operations. Kurnool District Collector P Ranjit Basha confirmed the cessation of these activities in a statement, assuring the public of the government's intent.

Naidu's decision follows recent protests by villagers in the Devanakonda mandal, who strongly opposed the proposed uranium exploration plans. In response to their concerns, the Chief Minister has appealed to the community to avoid further agitations, guaranteeing that no further uranium operations will be pursued.
