The Delhi BJP has formally approached Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, presenting a memorandum that demands an investigation into alleged financial irregularities involving Delhi's power distribution companies, commonly referred to as discoms.

Led by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, the delegation accused the Aam Aadmi Party government of enabling the discoms to secure unwarranted financial advantages, raising concerns about possible regulatory breaches. Sachdeva called for a probe into the involvement of Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP government, questioning the lack of action against discoms consistently reporting losses while one discom continues to profit.

BJP leaders, including New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj, pointed to mounting 'Regulatory Assets', now over Rs 21,000 crore, as indicators of potential mismanagement and collusion. The delay in payments has further resulted in the Delhi government owing Rs 26,638 crore to power generation companies. The AAP government has yet to respond to these serious allegations.
