The Delhi High Court has annulled a lookout circular (LOC) issued against Ashneer Grover, the former managing director of BharatPe, and his wife Madhuri Jain Grover. This decision follows the quashing of an FIR concerning allegations of cheating and forgery.
The order was issued by Justice Sanjeev Narula, who noted that another bench of the court had already quashed the FIR earlier the same day after considering a plea from the Grovers. The couple had reportedly reached a settlement with BharatPe.
In light of the developments, Justice Narula stated that the LOC, issued by the Bureau of Immigration at the Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing's request, would not survive. The Grovers were first alerted about the LOC upon their detention at the Delhi airport on November 16, 2023, as they were set to travel to the US.
