BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) has urged a comprehensive central investigation into alleged mismanagement of AMRUT scheme tenders valued at Rs 8,888 crore in Telangana. The accusations focus on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who supposedly awarded a Rs 1,137-crore contract to a company owned by his brother-in-law.
Despite lacking necessary technical and financial qualifications, Shodha Infrastructure Ltd, managed by CM's relative Sujan Reddy, secured the tender, KTR claimed at a recent press conference. Asserting a breach of Article 191(1) of the Constitution, he noted parallels with an office-of-profit issue faced by former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren.
KTR called out the BJP's silence on various corruption charges against the Congress government, urging action in the upcoming parliamentary session. Accusations also targeted state Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, already facing corruption inquiries, and demanded clarity on his interactions with industrialists.
