A court has remanded suspected shooter Shivkumar Gautam and four accomplices in the NCP politician Baba Siddique's murder case to police custody until November 19. This follows their arrest by the UP special task force and the Mumbai Crime Branch on Sunday.
The accused include Shivkumar, aged 20, and his alleged protectors Anurag Kashyap, Gyan Prakash Tripathi, Akash Srivastava, and Akhilendra Pratap Singh, who were apprehended from Nanpara in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district. Investigators stated the quartet helped Shivkumar flee to Nepal.
Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister, was shot dead on October 12 outside his son MLA Zeeshan Siddique's office in Mumbai. The crime branch presented the suspects in front of additional chief judicial magistrate Vinod Patil, who sanctioned extended custody for further investigation.
