The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the bail plea of former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, facing charges of rape and sexual assault.
Justices Dela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma observed Revanna's influential status while rejecting the plea. A charge sheet was filed against him even though initial complaints didn't include section 376 of the IPC.
The bench upheld the Karnataka High Court's earlier decision, denying bail, and did not provide assurance on revisiting the plea in six months. The charges include rape and sexual assault cases investigated by Karnataka's SIT.
