The protest in Dam Square came in response to recent clashes involving Israeli soccer fans, with demonstrators voicing opposition to alleged genocide in Gaza. Police actions were prompted by these prior incidents and were intensified following attacks on Israeli soccer supporters in the city.
The ban is set to extend for four more days. Dutch law enforcement continues to monitor antisemitic incidents, as tensions remain high with reports of violence from both sides surfacing.
