The Andhra Pradesh government is poised to unveil the state budget during the assembly session starting Monday, sources revealed. This announcement comes as the financial year 2024-25 approaches its final quarter.
Earlier, the TDP-led NDA administration passed an ordinance to implement a Vote-on-Account budget of Rs 1.3 lakh crore spanning August to November. Preceding this, the YSRCP government had introduced another Vote-on-Account budget covering April to July.
The issuance of two Vote-on-Account budgets highlights the transitional nature of the fiscal year, accounting for a significant eight-month period. The Finance Department, working in tandem with various departments, is assessing liabilities and resources with inputs from revenue sectors, necessitating additional time for presenting the regular budget.
