Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena officiated the swearing-in of the newly reconstituted New Delhi Municipal Council at the Raj Niwas on Saturday.
The council is headed by senior IAS officer Keshav Chandra as chairman, with Kuljeet Chahal taking the role of vice-chairman, following reconstitution notifications by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The reconstituted body includes a mix of official, non-official, and elected members and is tasked with leading New Delhi under statutory requirements that mandate restructuring every five years.
