Embezzlement Scandal: Charge Sheet Filed Against Filling Station Employees in Jammu and Kashmir
The Jammu and Kashmir Police Crime Branch has filed a charge sheet against two filling station employees for allegedly embezzling Rs 84 lakh in Ramban district. The accused, Mohd Ashraf Rather and Aftab Ahmad Bhat, were charged following a complaint by the station owner in Banihal.

The Crime Branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police has officially filed a charge sheet for a case involving the alleged embezzlement of Rs 84 lakh by two filling station employees in the Ramban district. This development was announced by a senior officer on Saturday.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime, Jammu) Benam Tosh, the accused individuals, Mohd Ashraf Rather from Baramulla and Aftab Ahmad Bhat from Banihal, were initially charged at the Banihal police station in 2021. The extensive investigation, now completed, led to the charge sheet being filed in a local court in Banihal for further judicial proceedings.
The Crime Branch took over the case following directives from the police headquarters, which called for an in-depth investigation based on allegations by filling station owner Javed Ahmad Wani. Wani's complaint included charges of criminal breach of trust, embezzlement, misappropriation, and cheating against the station manager Rather and sepoort9 Bhat.
