The incident unfolded around 1 a.m. within Orlando's entertainment district amid Halloween festivities attended by hundreds. Officers quickly responded to reports of shots fired at the intersection of Central Boulevard and Orange Avenue. Minutes later, another shooting occurred south of Washington Street on Orange Avenue, according to a police statement.
Videos circulating on social media showed people in Halloween costumes standing at the site as emergency personnel attended to victims. At a press conference, Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith confirmed the suspect, a 17-year-old boy, is now in custody. Meanwhile, the investigation remains active, and police are assessing the need for increased patrols in the area this weekend.
