Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah highlighted the issue of fair tax revenue devolution during the state's 69th formation day celebrations at Sree Kanteerava Stadium. Drawing analogies, he stressed that just because Karnataka is prosperous, it should not be exploited financially by the Centre.

Siddaramaiah pointed out that Karnataka contributes over Rs four lakh crore to the Central revenue yet receives a mere Rs 55,000 crore to Rs 60,000 crore in return. He reminded that under the federal arrangement, vibrant states like Karnataka should not face injustice.

He also focused on the importance of Kannada language and identity, urging people to maintain linguistic pride alongside embracing diversity. The day was marked by cultural performances under the theme 'Hesarayithu Karnataka, Usiragali Kannada'.
