A cooking gas cylinder explosion turned tragic, claiming the life of a 40-year-old man in Gandhi Nagar on Thursday morning, authorities confirmed. The victim, Surendra, was handling an LPG cylinder on his two-wheeler when the fatal blast occurred outside his residence, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Dinesh Tripathi.
While Surendra died immediately, his 38-year-old wife sustained serious injuries as she rushed to help him. She has since been hospitalized, but no other individuals were harmed in the incident, police stated.
The police, alongside forensic experts, arrived at the scene shortly after the explosion. Investigations are currently underway to identify the precise cause, and the deceased's body has been dispatched for post-mortem examination, noted the Deputy Commissioner.
