In a significant breakthrough, the Amritsar Police Commissionerate has successfully dismantled an interstate weapons smuggling module. Seven operatives have been apprehended as part of the operation, according to a top police official's statement on Thursday.
The module, reportedly connected to USA-based Dilpreet Singh, was found to have amassed a substantial cache of firearms. Punjab's Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, disclosed that the seizure included 12 pistols, 16 magazines, and 23 cartridges.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the module provided logistical support to various gangs by sourcing weapons from Madhya Pradesh. A FIR has been filed at the Islamabad police station in Amritsar, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend others involved in the network, the DGP stated. The Punjab Police remain committed to eradicating organized crime and illegal weapons trafficking, working diligently to expose all elements linked to this network.
