A tragic attempt to cross the Channel claimed another life, the French coastguard reported on Wednesday. The bodies of three other migrants were discovered on a nearby beach, as related by local media.

The Regional Operational Centre for Surveillance and Rescue in France (CROSS) deployed a rescue vessel and a French Navy helicopter to aid those in distress between Hardelot and Équihen-Plage on Wednesday morning. Although approximately 15 individuals were airlifted to safety, one man could not be saved despite frantic emergency efforts.
