The Odisha government has relieved a Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) from duty to facilitate an impartial investigation into serious allegations raised by a pregnant employee.
The employee, Barsha Priyadarshini, accused the CDPO, Snehalata Sahoo, of denying her maternity leave, which allegedly resulted in the loss of her unborn child during labor pains at the office.
Authorities in Kendrapara are conducting a thorough inquiry, ordered by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, to explore the claims of neglect and mistreatment by the officer.
