Police suspect the altercation, which also left four others critically injured, arose from a dispute over an alleged extramarital affair.
According to senior police officials, members of one group reportedly entered the village of Karamadihi wielding sharp weapons late Tuesday, launching an attack on members of the opposing faction. All five casualties were hacked to death in the violent confrontation.
