In a significant overnight operation, Russia's air defense units successfully destroyed a total of 23 Ukrainian drones over multiple regions in western Russia, as reported by the Russian defense ministry on Wednesday.
The ministry revealed that their forces intercepted and neutralized seven drones over the Rostov region, five over Kursk, four over Smolensk, while the remaining drones were downed over the Oryol, Bryansk, and Belgorod regions.
The operations were publicly detailed by the ministry through their channel on the Telegram messaging app, showcasing their defense capabilities against aerial threats in these intensified regional conflicts.
