The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has initiated action by forming a panel to tackle the issue of unlawful municipal solid waste dumping in Noida's Makanpur Colony. This came after a plea highlighted the site's proximity to key infrastructure and its impact on residents.
In response to the claims, NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava has organized a joint committee to visit the site and identify the responsible parties. This committee comprises members from the Central Pollution Control Board, Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, and the Union Ministry of Environment, among others.
