The uproar focused on the appointment of Ashwini Kumar, a non-Muslim, as the administrator, which opposition members argued was against the law. BJP members disputed this by citing precedents.
Amidst the discord, committee chairman Jagdambika Pal promised to include the Delhi government's views. Previous meetings witnessed similar tensions, with accusations of unfair invitations and opposition allegations of procedural biases.
