The Karnataka High Court is set to issue its decision on actor Darshan Thoogudeepa's interim bail application connected to his purported involvement in the Renukaswamy murder case. On Tuesday, Justice S Vishwajith Shetty reserved judgment after hearing comprehensive arguments, including those from senior advocate C V Nagesh, representing the actor, and State Public Prosecutor P Prasanna Kumar.
The State presented medical evaluations from Ballari Central Prison doctors, noting that Darshan, currently in custody, suffers from numbness in his feet and requires surgery. Prosecutor Kumar opposed interim bail, questioning the necessity of private hospital treatment over state facilities.
Justice Shetty emphasized the importance of a medical assessment in Bengaluru, questioning the choice of Mysuru for surgery. Previously rejected for bail, Darshan seeks urgent medical intervention amid the controversial allegations against him, involving the murder of Renukaswamy, driven by alleged conspiracy and instigation.
