In a significant development, a case of culpable homicide has been filed against both a local woman and officials from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) following the electrocution of a 20-year-old man in Ulhasnagar.
Eight months after the tragic incident, the police registered the case on October 26 after the victim's brother lodged a complaint at the Vitthalwadi police station. The victim, Sujal Gadapkar, succumbed to an electric shock while bathing in his home on February 22.
Detailed investigations revealed that Chandabai Sunkhe had allegedly connected her ceiling fan improperly, causing electrical current to spread dangerously, ultimately leading to Gadapkar's death. Both Sunkhe and MSEDCL officials now face charges under IPC 304(a).
