Tensions Rise as Houthis Launch Drones Towards Ashkelon
The Yemeni Houthi group launched drones towards Ashkelon, Israel, in a move they claim is in solidarity with Palestinian and Lebanese allies. The Israeli military confirmed the drone crossed into their territory, condemning the Houthis as terrorists backed by Iran's 'Axis of Resistance.'
Tensions in the Middle East escalated as Yemeni Houthi militants launched drones targeting the industrial city of Ashkelon, Israel, on Tuesday.
The Houthis, aligned with Iran's 'Axis of Resistance,' stated the attack was to support Palestinians in Gaza and Lebanese groups against Israeli aggression. This marks another instance in a series of attacks on ships in the Red Sea since last November.
Israeli authorities have denounced the Houthi actions and labelled them as terroristic, accusing them of collaborating with Iran. The 'Axis of Resistance' includes groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, which united against Israeli and U.S. influence in the Middle East.
