North Korean Troops Join Russian Forces in Ukraine Conflict
Dutch intelligence reports that Russia has deployed 1,500 North Korean troops to participate in the Ukraine conflict, according to Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans. This move, viewed by the West as an escalation, sees these forces predominantly stationed in Kursk, a city near the Ukrainian border.
According to Dutch intelligence, Russia has engaged 1,500 troops from North Korea to join the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans revealed on Friday.
While Moscow hasn't refuted previous U.S. allegations of North Korean involvement, the West views this development as a significant escalation in the war effort. Brekelmans mentioned that these troops are expected to be stationed mainly in the Russian city of Kursk, consisting largely of North Korea's special units.
This deployment allows Russia to test these forces while observing the international community's response in a tense geopolitical climate.
