Scholz pointed to persistent regional tensions in areas such as the Middle East and the South and East China Seas, noting the challenges posed by Russia's actions in Ukraine. He described the Middle East as a continuous source of tension and a reminder of the human cost of unresolved conflicts.
The Chancellor underscored the message that resolving these conflicts through lawful political solutions is imperative. He also highlighted Germany's commitment to open seas and international law, as demonstrated by naval visits to countries including India, Japan, and South Korea.
