Former Union minister Smriti Irani on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Congress leaders, disputing their claims of fulfilling pre-poll commitments in Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, and Karnataka, as she accused them of sowing divisions ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra elections.
Irani alleged that Congress resorts to spreading lies to seize power, looting, and dividing citizens after forming governments. She criticized their financial management in Karnataka, pointing to a depleted state treasury due in part to unrealistic populist schemes. Additionally, she cited failures in fulfilling job creation promises in Haryana.
Irani expressed confidence in the BJP's prospects in the Maharashtra assembly elections scheduled for November 20, highlighting the party's focus on development and societal unity, contrasting it with Congress's alleged divisive tactics.
